We hit the jackpot! My wife and I recently stumbled upon an estate sale with an awe-inspiring collection of vintage goodies. Among them were the extraordinary Metlox Poppytrail dinner pieces, featuring the Aztec pattern from the 1950s. For those unaware, Metlox Pottery is a slice of Americana, founded in 1927 in California. Their Poppytrail line, and particularly the Aztec pattern, is a marvel of mid-century design that has collectors swooning.
Why the Hype Around Aztec Metlox Poppytrail?
The Aztec pattern captures the essence of its era, embodying earthy tones and geometric designs that echo Aztec or Southwestern styles. These pieces aren't just dinnerware; they're artistic statements carrying a rich history. When Metlox ceased operations in 1989, it left behind a legacy of quality and design innovation that makes its pieces, like the Aztec line, highly sought after in vintage markets today.
Ohhh my! We Found Some!
We were thrilled to find these Aztec pieces and even more happy to see them fly off the shelves. In less than 24 hours of posting some of the plates to eBay and our own website, they were already being snapped up! It's not just about selling these gems; it's about sharing a part of history with those who appreciate it as much as we do. We're on the hunt for the Aztec patterned Coffee Pot, and let’s just say, that might just stay in our personal collection of vintage treasures.
Act Now: These Pieces Won’t Last Long!
If you're a collector or simply someone who appreciates the artistic and historical value of unique dinnerware, don't miss your chance.
